Shak Shuka is a traditional Moroccan meal of eggs poached in slow roasting tomato sauce with herbs, spices, garlic, crusty organic baguette and harissa dip, garnish of spring onion and optional chorizo sausage. Our Shak Shuka is a family recipe designed by my mum, Chef Riki Kaspi and passed down to me, Elli Kaspi. Shak Shuka is somewhat of a family treasure and adds a unique option to your breakfast or market choices.

Originating in our old family restaurant, Riki Blakes, Shak Shuka was a dish that steadily grew in popularity over time. Following the sale of the restaurant, we introduced Shak Shuka as a Market idea intended to give the people of Perth a unique and authentic Moroccan experience.

Sourcing local produce was the focus from the outset, with local free range eggs, organic baguette from Loafers bakery sourced fresh on the day, chorizo sausage from an award winning local butcher and produce from a local growers store combining to provide an authentic Moroccan meal of the finest quality, whilst supporting local suppliers and producers.

My aim has been to provide a homely meal with a unique blend of herbs and spices that gives you a taste of Morocco from the comfort of your own seat. Shak Shuka is handmade each week to achieve this, with care and time put into the process to provide the perfect blend. Enjoy!
