Market Chef Cook-off – Gilly & Langer cooking up a storm!

The 1st of the Market Chef Cook-offs took place today at the Market – with Adam Gilchrist & Justin Langer battling it out in the ‘kitchen’.

Braving the weather, the 2 cricket greats raced around the market to find all the ingredients they needed to produce 2 fabulous dishes.

On the menu today was: Tomato bruschetta & Pesto, pork & feta pappardelle pasta. After a frantic half hour in the outdoor kitchen under the tree, Gilly & Langer came up with dishes which were then judged by the excited crowd. Points were given for both presentation & taste – Gilly took out the winning spot by a small margin – with the advantage of his home crowd in Subi. The food looked good enough to serve in a restaurant – maybe due to the influence of assisting cook John Cumming of Mini Espresso in Perth & chef Jeremy Fischer of The Subi Hotel – & suitably impressed the waiting crowd.
